About

The State Attorney is an official who is elected every four years. Andrew H. Warren , along with Assistant State Attorneys, prosecutes criminals throughout our county, encompassing the city of Tampa, Temple Terrace and Plant City. Article V, Florida Constitution, and Section 27, Florida Statutes , along with various other statutes, set out the authority and guidelines for the office of the State Attorney.

The staff of approximately 352 includes more than 120 attorneys, 12 investigators and a dedicated support staff. Our office believes in being very involved in community interests. Our staff plays a part in numerous community-related committees and non-profit organizations. Our Mission is to ensure that justice is accomplished in all matters relating to the prosecution of criminal offenses.

While we must remain vigorous in guarding the rights of all individuals who have contact with the criminal justice system, the protection of the citizens of Hillsborough County shall be our foremost consideration in whatever task we are pursuing. We will also zealously advocate for the rights of victims of crimes committed within our jurisdiction.
